David Nemerov is known for Painting, which he only started at 62years old. David Nemerov and his wife, Gertrude Russek, were a Russian-Jewish couple who lived in New York City and owned Russeks Clothing Store on Fifth Avenue. Nemerov worked at the store for 42 years. He rose from window dresser to president and later chairman of the board. The artist was father of photographer Diane Arbus (1923-1971).
